TrapCall Unlocks Caller ID

AT&T AND T-MOBILE - PHONE NUMBERS UNBLOCKED

A new service known as TrapCall and designed by TelTech permits subscribers to see blocked callers on their Caller ID, and in some cases, it may not just be the caller's name and number, but the service could reveal the caller's address in some cases. The subscription service is compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile services.

TelTech's TrapCall redirects any unanswered blocked calls to an 800 number then sends it back to your voicemail. Since blocked calls are denied to 1-800 numbers, TrapCall picks up the number as the data moves through TelTech's TrapCall servers. According to a Wired test, the redirect process took approximately 6 seconds on AT&T—and during that time all the caller hears is standard ringing.

TelTech's TrapCall's service is free, and it also includes the option of blacklisting unwanted callers by phone number. Additionally, it permits the subscriber to listen to voicemail over the web. It's currently available to AT&T and T-Mobile subscribers and availability to ther major carriers is being supported and could be available within weeks, says TelTech president Meir Cohen.

For an additional $10.00 upgrade to the "Mouse Trap" service, subscribers can also get transcripts of voicemail messages and can, in some cases, send text messages with the phone number of the caller.

For $25.00, the "Bear Trap" will permit subscribers to record phone calls and receive text messages with the billing name and street address of the caller who attempted to remain anonymous.

Interestingly, the only way to ensure protection from TelTech's TrapCall is by subscribing to TelTech's SpoofCard service which allows subscribers to display a number of the subscriber's choosing on a recipient's Caller ID.

Pricing for Sprint Simply Everything Family Plan

Last week Sprint changed the price of their popular Simply Everything Plan for customers with multiple lines of service.

The pricing for the first 5 lines of service on the Simply Everthing plan are as follows: Line 1 billed at $99.99, line 2 billed at $94.99, line 3 billed at $89.99, line 4 billed at $84.99, and line 5 billed at $79.99.

The new pricing effects the 6th line of service and beyond. The old way of billing would have the 6th through 10th line billed the same as line 1 through 5 with the 6th line priced at $99.99 and decreasing in price by $5 up till line 10.

Sprint has simplified this by billing lines 6 and beyond at a flat charge of $89.99. This will save some people money depending on how many lines of service they have on the simply everything plan.

Where to get Cheap Cell Phones

If you are reading this, you probably are somewhat internet savvy and may already be aware of the best way to get a great deal on a cheap cell phone. If not, allow me to enlighten you.

I happen to work in the wireless industry and am very familiar with cell phone pricing. Just about every cell phone carrier offers a cheap cell phone or possibly even a free phone assuming you are a new customer and sign a new 2 year (typically) agreement. However, if you do a little digging and stay away from the major cell phone providers websites, you will probably find a much better deal on a cheap cell phone.

Who I am referring to are the online wireless retailers such as Wirefly.com and LetsTalk.com . These online companies sell the same products as the major carriers like Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile but their phone prices are much cheaper. In some cases, Wirefly.com and LetsTalk.com will even pay you for purchasing your service through them!

How can they do this? Basically, the major carrier pays the online retailer a commission for bringing them new customers. Wirefly.com, LetsTalk.com and other online retailers then offer their own discounts and rebates to the customers which in some cases can mean that you, the customer, end up making money just from buying your service from them. What's better then getting paid to buy a cell phone?

Here is an example of how much you can save just by using an online retailer to buy your cell phone service instead of purchasing your cell phone service directly from the provider. One of Sprint's popular cheap cell phones right now is the LG Rumor. I just checked the price at Sprint.com and they are offering the LG Rumor for $49.99 after a $50.00 mail in rebate for a new customer signing a 2 year agreement. LetsTalk.com is offering the Rumor for free after a $49.99 rebate. A savings of $50. At Wirefly.com, they are offering the exact same cheap cell phone for free plus a $50.00 cash back rebate! That is a savings of $100! Not bad for a couple minutes of comparison shopping.

So the next time you are looking to purchase a cheap cell phone, make sure to check the online wireless retailers, because the only thing better than a cheap cell phone, is a free cheap cell phone plus cash back.

Verizon Wireless Unlimited

I'm feeling compelled today to discuss all the unlimited plans available from the major wireless carriers including Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T. In this post I will be going over the Verizon unlimited plan.

Verizon wireless is now offering an "Unlimited Basic Plan" starting at $99.99 that includes unlimited cellular calling within the domestic United States. This plan includes unlimited roaming and unlimited access to mobile web with HTML browsing. Data usage will be charged at the rate of $1.99/MB. For a user looking only for cellular and web usage withing the Verizon network, this is the plan to go with.

For the users who are interested in additional forms of messaging such as text messaging and SMS messaging, you can opt for the second tier unlimited plan called the "Unlimited Select Plan" for $119.99. Again, data usage is charged at the rate of $1.99/MB. If you have a tween who sends text messages and picture messages all day long, go with this plan if you are with Verizon.

The most comprehensive unlimited plan that Verizon offers is the "Premium Unlimited Plan" for $139.99. This plan includes the unlimited cellular, unlimited messaging, and unlimited access to Verizon's extensive V-Cast services. Unlimited data access is also included which helps with those applications and downloads that you know you will want to take advantage of.

How does the Verizon unlimited plans add up to the Sprint Simply Everything plan? If you ask me, not very well. The Sprint plan offers similar features to the Verizon Premium Unlimited Plan for $40 less. The Sprint Simply Everything plan is simply an incredible value.

Well Sprint has done it! They have decided to step up and offer a $99.99 rate plan called Simply Everything, and it is just that. Sprint Simply Everything gives you not only unlimited domestic cellular minutes, it also offers free text messages, free SMS messages, unlimted data usage, and access to Sprint's comprehensive premium features including Sprint TV, Sprint Mobile Radio, Sprint E-mail, BIS Blackberry Services, and the list goes on and on.

I have personally been waiting for something like this because, in the interest of full disclosure, I happen to work for a Sprint dealer. When they announced this plan, I was very impressed and relieved. Sprint has been hemmoraging subscribers for months and it is about time Sprint steps up and offers an unlimited cellular plan like the Simply Everything that can complete with the other major carriers like Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile.

I am a person who finds it very difficult to sell a product that I don't believe in and up until recently, Sprint has not been able to stay competitive in my local market. Ever since the merger with Nextel, Sprint has been trying to define itself and in the process have changed their focus several times over the last couple years.

Sprint, with its new Simply Everything plan and a new CEO in Dan Hesse, may have finally gotten a much needed advantage that will help turn the company back in the right direction.

I guess I better get out there and sell the Sprint Simply Everything plan to every person I meet.

Sprint Launches Simply Everything Unlimited Cellular Plan...Finally

Finally, Sprint is jumping on the bandwagon and offering an Unlimited Plan called the Simply Everything that is truly unlimited. Everyhing is unlimited with Sprint's Simply Everything plan incuding unlimited cellular, text, sms, data usage, even mobile e-mail...hence the name Simply Everything.

Sprint has needed to step up and offer something like this because their major competitors Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile are all offering an unlimited cellular plan as well for $99.99. However, none of them offer addtional services besides the unlimited cellular for the $99.99 price. Sprint Simply Everything is the best deal by far.
